    The Director-General of the Ministry of Commerce Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Khaldi affirmed the ministry’s keenness to support the business sector in the Eastern Province, pointing to the business sector’s commitment to keeping pace with the development of performance and services in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
    Al-Khalidi explained during a monthly meeting for the business sector organized by the Asharqia Chamber remotely on Tuesday evening, October 6, 2020, and managed by the Secretary-General of the Chamber, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabel, that the business sector in the Eastern Province always responds quickly to the continuous updates approved by the Ministry, meeting all the requirements nominally and we at a stage that requires a lot of work and cooperation to modernize and develop many and many aspects, indicating that the Kingdom occupies a distinguished position among the countries of the world, due to the modern renaissance carried out by the wise leadership in order for countries to compete in development and development​.
    During the meeting, Al-Khalidi talked about the Commercial Business Agency that aims to achieve the policies set for business in the Kingdom and develop them in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by promoting the participation of the private sector. The state’s commercial systems and the pursuit of stimulating trade and pursuing the professionalism of chambers of commerce in addition to registering trademarks, commercial agencies, and consulting professions. It also aims to develop internal trade, in addition to increasing the effectiveness of the role of the private sector and encouraging it to raise economic efficiency and expand the areas of commercial activities in the local and global markets.
    Regarding the development services for the business sector in the Eastern Province, Al-Khalidi said that most of the services have been converted into integrated electronic services that serve customers without the need to review the branches and offices of the ministry to provide the service on paper, including Issuing the unified national number and updating it in conjunction with the issuance or amendment of the commercial register of the facility as this service The clients' time and effort are reduced, and they do not need to visit the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, as it facilitates the process of electronically opening files in the Department of Zakat, Income, and Social Security, and also registering the facility with the Chamber of Commerce.​

    Among the services that have been converted into electronic services, Al-Khalidi said that it is possible to issue certificates of origin for national exports of industrial, agricultural, animal and wealth products to the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and other Arab countries and countries of the world and to register them electronically, and also to adopt the National Guide for Unified Economic Activities (ISIC 4), in addition to studying Requests for licensing the establishment of offices for free professions electronically of various types, administrative, financial, and economic, and to register them and follow-up on new amendments, renewals or deletions and the development of these professions and implement the provisions of regulations, decisions and instructions issued in their regard, pointing to the electronic transformation in the services of the Ministry of Commerce aimed at reducing the waiting period For customers, as well as the time of service performance, and the ability to prepare daily reports to follow up on work performance.
    Al-Khalidi stated that the ministry emphasizes strengthening the relationship with the business sector by visiting companies and institutions and taking the initiative to take their views on the services provided, the obstacles and challenges facing them, and work to overcome them.​
